It wasn't actually the idea of conference run by Etsy that sparked my interest, it was really the theme that got me excited: A Summit on Small Businesses and Sustainablitiy.
After reading that one of the speakers is Marco Clausen from Prinzesinnengarten, I knew I had to go. I also think that running into one of the organizers of the Hello Etsy event at a screen-printing exhibition was a sign that I needed to get organised and buy a ticket.
I now have my ticket printed (after a trip to the internet cafe) and a bit of a list of speakers I would like to listen to.
I am planning on being a little sneaky and doing some Sow. Give. Grow. trans-plants while I am there. I am experimenting with a new envelope design but need to get these reprinted, which is always tricky when you don't have a printer.
Take care
Wow, how fantastic. Prinzesinnengarten looks amazing. I'll look forward to hearing more about your experiences at the summit. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteThe summit looks great. In regards to the envelope and printers, I was wondering if you could find a design that didn't require a printer or sticky tape as I hate wasting my printer ink! We could just attach the same tag as the pots (could be hand-written to avoid printing). I should also get around to doing another seed drop when I sort out my seeds for spring planting....
ReplyDeleteStupendous Joy, i am really looking forward to the weekend. There will be so many incredible speakers that the hardest part is working out who to see.
ReplyDeleteFarmer Liz, I think the summit will be great.
Thanks for the feedback on the envelopes. For a while now, I haven't had a printer so I bought some envelopes and just hand wrote on those. I think that was fairly successful but only heard from one recipient. Tags would be good too. It would be a matter of making sure that the parcel of seeds with the attached tag is big enough to be noticed. I love the idea of making by hand. Sometimes I just find that a printer is a little easier when I am trying to do a lot at once. You are more than welcome to have a go at it anyway you want. I would love to see what you come up with.
Now that sounds like loads of fun.
ReplyDeleteI love Etsy :-)
CHFG, I am really looking forward to it. Should be interesting.
